One-bird boards
Start with the habitat that has least room
Place one bird in each row, column, and colored habitat. Birds cannot touch, even diagonally. Count the remaining safe squares in a habitat before deciding where its bird belongs.
A tiny habitat makes a big difference
In the first Journey board, the orange habitat is just one square: row 4, column 5. Its bird is forced. That placement immediately closes the rest of row 4 and column 5.
Far apart can still be wrong
Two birds at opposite ends of a row do not touch, but they still break the one-per-row rule. Check rows, columns, habitats, and diagonals separately.
